Key Account Manager locomotive leasing

Mitsui Rail Capital Europe B.V. (“MRCE”) was established in 2004 in response to the growing market for leasing railway equipment due to the deregulation of the railway system in Europe. The business domain of the company is leasing of sustainable electric locomotives to private and public rail operators under full-service arrangements (including maintenance). MRCE’s annual turnover exceeds € 100 million and the total asset value is around € 800 million. MRCE has approx. 120 employees located in Amsterdam, Munich, and Milan. Using the fleet management knowhow, the full-service locomotive leasing expertise and the advanced digital platform, MRCE plans to further strengthen its business.

Therefore CRS Consultants is looking for an experienced international Key Account Manager.

The position

The Key Account Manager is a senior sales executive who:

  • Is responsible for renting out certain locomotives to customers.
  • Grows the overall client portfolio, both in number of clients and turnover per account.
  • Maintains and expands relationships with strategically important customers, and develops   relationships with new customers.
  • Materially contributes to achieving the company’s commercial strategy and goals.

Your main tasks

  • Be a strong sales leader, who develops sustainable, long-lasting relationships with (potential new) customers.
  • Service and manage existing customers, building a sound relationship by showing a dedicated customer and market oriented attitude.
  • Sell, negotiate, agree and execute leases of locomotives.
  • Partner-up with customers to understand their business, objectives and needs.
  • Performing sound commercial management, incl. sales strategy, sales planning, business development, etc.
  • Closely work together with the technical and fleet management teams in order to assure a optimized net utilization off MRCE’s locomotive fleet.
  • Willing to build a thorough technical knowhow regarding electrical locomotives, their usage and maintenance program’s.
  • Develop a deep knowledge for full service operating leasing of locomotives.
  • Provide management with feedback on developments in the market.
  • Expand professional and technical knowledge through customer meetings, conferences, industry events etc.

What makes you succesful

  • 5 – 10 years relevant commercial working experience, preferably in the finance/ leasing, transport and/or logistic industry.
  • Relevant Master or Bachelor degree in business, finance or related field.
  • International sales experience, regular travel in Europe is required.
  • Excellent commercial and organizing skills, drive to make a difference, self-starting, innovative and result oriented.
  • Strong teamwork skills, able to build trust and confidence with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Target focused.
  • Hands on mentality, innovative, ambitious, positive attitude and capable to motivate people.
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and verbal.
